Saint John, New Brunswick

 

This is a must attend meeting for anyone involved in Power Engineering. It is a once in thirteen years (ten provinces and three territories) opportunity in New Brunswick to participate in and influence Power Engineering.

 

 

Saint John Information

Saint John is Canada’s oldest incorporated city (1785) and offers a multitude of attractions.

 

Interesting points to see in Saint John include:

  • Irving Nature Park
  • The Bay of Fundy
  • Experiencing the Reversing Falls (the highest tides in the world reverse the flow of the St. John River)
  • New Brunswick Museum
  • Whale watching
  • Shopping uptown in Brunswick Square
  • Historic sites including:
    • Carelton Martello Tower
    • Three Sisters Lamp (this historic lamp has been guiding mariners into the harbour since 1848)
    • Fownes & Melvin Sea Captains’ Burial grounds
    • St. George’s Church (the oldest in the city)
    • Barbour’s General Store is an authentic nineteeth-century general store.
    • Fort Howe Lookout
  • Self-Guided Historic walking tours
    • The Loyalist Trail retraces the steps of the loyalist founders.
    • Prince William’s Walk leads visitors through the city’s commercial district.
    • Victorian Stroll takes visitors past some of the city’s grandest mansions.
